If you are looking for more tourist information about the Baviaanskloof, you can find it at the homestead in the Potato Shed (with a traditional cow dung floor).

Your hostess, Henriëtte Terblanche, will be more than happy to tell you about other interesting places in the Kloof. 

There are also interesting african curios, examples of medicinal plants as well as braai meat for sale at the Potato Shed. 

Meals, freshly baked bread can be provided upon request. Please arrange beforehand to allow for preparation.

• Makkedaat Cave is (per person per night) R160 for adults and R140 for scholars.

• Alwynbak is (per person per night) R160 for adults and R140 for scholars.

• Van Terrebert Cave is (per person per night) R200 for adults and R180 for scholars.

• Dassiebak is (per person per night) R210 for adults

• Dawid se Bak Sleeps 6 persons (per person per night) R160 for adults and R140 for scholars.

The fee for camping is

• Populierbos (electricity) - R65 per adult and R55 per scholar per day.

• Wyekloof Buschcamp - R55 per adult and R50 for scholars - Basic facilities only

If you want to check on available dates please phone 044 934 1012 (day) 044 923 1921  (a/h between 7 and in 8 evenings) since their email facilities are not reliable as a result of poor telephone connections in the area.

Braai wood is available.

Please note that there are no cell phone reception and credit card payments possible due to poor communication in the Kloof.

Please note

• Report at the Info office to obtain the keys for the caves.

• Arrive after 14:00 and depart before 10:00.

• Dassiebak has approx 30 steps from the parking area to the cave.

• Aalwynbak has approx 20 steps from the parking area to the cave. You need a 4x4 vehicle to reach the parking area.

• Braai Meat, Meals, and Home Baked Bread must be ordered in advance.

• Premade Kudu, chicken pies as well as lasagne cool drinks, coffee and ice available.

• Please arrive before dark so that you can acquaint yourself with the cave while it is still light.

• With the exception of the Dassiebak all accommodation require own bedding preferably sleeping bags as well as towels.
